Kara Yu, DMD, FICOI, FAGD, MAGD
Dr. Kara Yu earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, Physiology, and Behavior at the University of California at Davis. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2007. She graduated with high honors in endodontics (root canal therapy) and took advanced honors courses in periodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Yu has a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, which has only been achieved by two percent of general dentists in the US and Canada. Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) take the most rigorous continuing education dental courses and are versed in the most up to date dental technology and procedures. She has presented at the AGD conventions and has publications in AGD Impact and AGD newsletters.
Dr. Yu also has her Fellowship in Oral Implantology from the International Congress of Implantologists. Based on her experience and well-rounded knowledge of in all aspects of dentistry, she truly gives her patients the best possible comprehensive care.
Furthermore, Dr. Yu teaches dental students at the School of Dentistry at the University of California in San Francisco, as a Clinical Professor for the Department of Preventive and Restorative Medicine. There, she instructs her dental students in various topics such as comprehensive treatment planning, implant dentistry, and fixed and removable prosthodontics.
